WECG Officially Launches in Shanghai, CMGE Named Worldwide Sponsor

SEOUL, June 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Aegis Gaming Networks Inc. (AGN) and Global Mobile Game Confederation (GMGC) today held a press conference to announce the official launch and candidate host cities of the "World e-Sports Championship Games (WECG)" at Shanghai's Mobile Asia Expo (MAE).

At the press conference, WECG presented its vision and program overview, revealing their host-city selection plan and the date of the first release of official game titles as June 30th. The total selection of official game titles will include titles from PC, console and mobile games.

"We want to become the ultimate independent e-Sports ecosystem for the world's best players to train, collaborate and develop their skills - providing the platform for everyone to learn from each other and share the excitement of gaming with millions of fans around the world," said David Song, CEO of GMGC and co-founder of WECG.

Host City Selection & Grand Final Host City of 2014

Today WECG revealed the tournament schedule of the host cities for the future. In his presentation, Bory Jun, CEO of AGN and co-founder of WECG, shared that 5 cities in China - Chengdu, Shanghai, Kunshan, Chongqing and Huaxi - are being considered for the 2014 Grand Final host city. The final selection will be released in late July or August. The selected city will host the Grand Final in December of this year.

Mr. Jun shared the future host city plan, Triple-4 policy, where the tournament structure will compose of 3 main elements: 4 cities will host a total of 4 official WECG events over 4 years. WECG will select 1 to 2 cities from each continent (Asia, Europe and the Americas), and each city will annually host one event, such as the <WECG Global Challenge> and the <WECG Grand Final>, over a 4-year period.

With this plan, fans around the world will have more opportunities to see WECG matches in their home regions.

Worldwide Sponsor Confirmed

WECG also officially signed their first global top sponsor China Mobile Games and Entertainment Group (CMGE), the largest publisher and a leading developer of mobile games in China.
