West Cary Group Wins Gold at 2012 American Business Awards (SM)

RICHMOND, Va., Nov. 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- West Cary Group, an award-winning marketing communications and advertising agency headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, was recently honored with two Stevie Awards at the 10^th Annual American Business Awards in San Francisco. The firm received gold in the Energy category for its redesign of Dominion Resources' Project Plant It! website (www.projectplantit.com) and silver in the Advertising, Marketing and Public Relations Category for its work on the RVA Creates site (www.rvacreates.com).

Project Plant It!, WCG's gold winner, was launched by Dominion in 2007 to educate students, teachers and the community about the importance of caring for and planting trees. West Cary Group redesigned the program's home page to include a tree graphic with navigation links positioned below its trunk and on its leaves. The agency further enhanced the site with updated gamification, taking learning games that were previously animated and making them more realistic to resonate with today's tech-savvy, digital-native students.

For the RVA Creates website—designed to showcase the creative elements that make Richmond unique—West Cary Group custom-built the RVA Generator. This web capability allows users to create personalized RVA logos using their own images. The agency developed wireframes, site navigation and information architecture, as well.
