West Wireless Health Institute Vice Chairman Dr. Eric Topol to Deliver Keynote Address at the 2011 mHealth Summit

BETHESDA, Md., July 27, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Foundation for the National Institutes of Health (FNIH) today announced the second of several mHealth Summit keynote speakers, Dr. Eric Topol, a leading U.S. physician, author and Vice Chairman of the West Wireless Health Institute.

In partnership with the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), the mHealth Alliance, and the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the FNIH is establishing an all-star roster of visionary keynote speakers, conference tracks and an expanded exhibit hall at the 3rd annual mHealth Summit. The Summit will take place December 5-7, 2011 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in the Washington, DC area.

Dr. Topol will deliver his keynote address at the Summit during the opening session on December 5, and will focus on the importance of continuing to innovate within the mHealth field, highlighting recent clinical and technical advances, noting where the industry can improve, what goals need to be set forth, and how those goals may be achieved. His keynote will offer some bold predictions about the future of healthcare and the role technology will play. Bringing a different perspective to the Summit, Dr. Topol will discuss the clinical value proposition that wireless health provides — including better health outcomes and lower healthcare costs.
