What Makes a Premier Airline Terminal Run?

NEW YORK, April 3, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- 3-D television viewers will be able to get a unique, behind-the-scenes view of how one of America's premier airline terminals keeps its complex operations running safely and on time when 3net's Super Systems program featuring American Airlines Terminal 8 at John F. Kennedy International Airport airs on Sunday, April 8 (8 p.m. ET/PT).

The program will give viewers a fast-paced, hour-long tour of the operations of American's $1.3 billion JFK Terminal, which accommodates 25,000 passengers and dispatches 95 flights a day. 3net's cameras have captured the marriage of people and technology that gets American Airlines aircraft, passengers and baggage where they need to be, when they need to be there.

The broadcast features the terminal's automated passenger check-in facilities, baggage system with five miles of moving belts, control tower, ramp operations that ready aircraft for takeoff, the oneworld® alliance Transfer Center that connects international passengers with flights to and from domestic destinations, and the maintenance hangar where skilled mechanics work through the night to make ensure the safety of each plane.
