Whirlpool Corporation Named One of the 100 Most Trustworthy Companies in America

BENTON HARBOR, Mich., April 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Whirlpool Corporation (NYSE: WHR) recently was named one of America's 100 Most Trustworthy Companies by Forbes magazine and Audit Integrity.  The companies making the list have consistently demonstrated accurate, transparent and conservative accounting practices and solid corporate governance and management.

The companies on the list were divided into one of three categories, depending upon their market capitalization. Whirlpool Corporation was included among the 19 most trustworthy large-cap companies.

More than 8,000 companies traded on U.S. stock exchanges were considered for the list. The scoring was performed by Audit Integrity, an independent financial analysis company based in Los Angeles. Every three months, Audit Integrity assessed each company for an accounting and governance risk score (AGR). Among several criteria the companies had to meet to qualify for the list, companies had to have market caps of $200 million or more and "conservative" or "average" AGR ratings for the last four quarters.
