WidePoint Subsidiary iSYS Announces New Contract Award by the State of Utah in Support of a Multi-State Wireless Management Contracting Opportunity

MCLEAN, Va., March 22, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- WidePoint Corporation (NYSE Amex: WYY), a specialist in communications management and cybersecurity solutions, announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary, iSYS, LLC ("iSYS"), has been awarded a Master Agreement contract to provide the Western States Contracting Alliance ("WSCA") with Wireless Management and Contract Compliance Services led and issued by the State of Utah.  The contract period of performance is February 1, 2012 through January 31, 2015.  This three-year contract was a multi-award, indefinite-duration/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) type contract, and it is available to the State of Utah and all 52 members of the NASPO Cooperative, including the 15 members of WSCA.

WSCA is a cooperative purchasing arm of the National Association of State Purchasing Officials ("NASPO"). WSCA's mission is to implement multi-state contracts to achieve cost-effective and efficient acquisition of quality products and services for its member states. WSCA member states include Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.  The State of Utah, Division of Purchasing was designated by WSCA to be the lead State conducting this procurement and all other NASPO states may also participate in using this Master Agreement.

WSCA has projected the 2010 respective spend for Wireless at $3.1 Billion as a baseline measurement. The following states have already submitted intent to participate in this award:  Arizona, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nevada, South Dakota, Utah, and West Virginia. 

The scope of this Master Agreement provides for wireless telecom contract auditing, compliance and cost recovery services and plan optimization and right sizing as part of a comprehensive wireless management tool for cell phones including data services. This contract encompasses management services including but not limited to review of overcharges on existing phone bills, right sizing evaluation processes, auditing of WSCA wireless contracts as well as auditing services for cellular phone contracts with individual states. Additionally, individual participating states, city and county agencies can procure landline/voice line auditing services through this contract.
