MCLEAN, Va., April 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- WidePoint Corporation (NYSE Amex: WYY), a specialist in communications management and cybersecurity solutions, announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary, iSYS, LLC ("iSYS"), has won the first task order with the State of Utah under the Master Agreement contract to provide the Western States Contracting Alliance ("WSCA") with Wireless Management and Contract Compliance Services. "We are excited to have been selected to perform this wireless audit for the State of Utah," said Jin Kang, President of iSYS. "We are committed to supporting the State of Utah and other WSCA members in reducing their overall telecom cost. This is the first Task Order issued under our Master Agreement with the WSCA member states, and we look forward to building on it, both within the State of Utah for additional telecom expense management services and in other member states as they pursue their own audits and communications management optimization planning strategies."
Steve Komar, WidePoint CEO, stated, "We are pleased that our investments in time and resources to target and expand our services into the state and local marketplace are showing positive results. We look forward to continuing the expansion of our reach into other state's and local municipalities through our new relationship with WSCA. The current pace of new awards and extensions in our Federal and State marketplaces, coupled with the addition of new awards we have recently received in our commercial marketplace, demonstrate both the need and demand that our communications management proprietary solutions offer the marketplace.
As announced on March 22, 2012, the Master Agreement provides for wireless telecom contract auditing, compliance and cost recovery services and plan optimization and right sizing as part of a comprehensive wireless management tool for cell phones including data services for WSCA member states.
