NEW YORK, Dec. 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Will Leather Goods, an Oregon-based artisanal leather goods company, announced today its donation of over 3,000 Give Will backpacks to children of Cornerstone Schools and Vernor Elementary School. The donation is part of Will Leather Goods' founder Will Adler's mission to provide 500,000 backpacks to children in need by the year 2022.
The entire student body of Cornerstone Schools and Cornerstone Academies are the first-ever recipients of Give Will in Detroit. Each Cornerstone student in grades K-12 received a specially-designed Give Will backpack. The backpacks are intended to serve as a, "bag to carry your dreams," and features a space for the child to write his or her future aspirations.

Detroit native Will Adler presented the backpacks at two school assemblies, one at 9AM and the second at 12PM on December 14th, where he addressed students to inspire them to stay motivated and work hard to achieve their goals. In another assembly on December 15th at 9:30AM, Adler made a similar donation of 300 backpacks to Vernor Elementary, which he attended during his childhood.
The Give Will program was established by Will Leather Goods in 2013 to support students in underfunded schools across America through in-kind backpack donations. The donation is part of Will Leather Goods' mission to help in the rebuilding of Detroit, and follows the the brand's recent "Legacy Store" opening in Midtown Detroit in early November.
