Wisconsin Chefs Take on the Crave Brothers Pizza Challenge for National Pizza Month

WATERLOO, Wis., Oct. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Crave Brothers Farmstead Cheese is celebrating National Pizza Month this October with a unique collaboration bringing together Wisconsin chefs and restaurants to showcase the versatility of Crave Brothers cheese through creative takes on pizza.

Each participating chef was tasked with creating an original pizza recipe featuring one or more Crave Brothers products. The result is a collection of inventive recipes that go beyond traditional pizza toppings and highlight the different ways Crave Brothers cheeses can be incorporated into a dish.

"We were fascinated to see how each chef interpreted the challenge and used our cheeses in completely different ways," said Roseanne Crave, Sales and Marketing Manager at Crave Brothers Farmstead Cheese. "These recipes really highlight the versatility of our products and the creativity of Wisconsin's culinary community. We're excited to share these creations throughout National Pizza Month and give people a chance to experience our cheeses in new and unexpected ways."

MEET THE CHEFS AND THEIR CREATIONS:

Chef Dana Spandet | Flour Girl and Flame | Milwaukee/West Allis "Crave the Flame"

Chef Dana Spandet created Crave the Flame, a bold combination that pairs a garlic oil base with Crave Brothers Oaxaca, roasted delicata squash, red onion, nduja, cider-pickled apple, chili honey Mascarpone and crispy sage. The combination of savory, sweet, spicy and seasonal flavors puts a distinctly Wisconsin spin on the pizza experience. Crave the Flame will be available at all Flour Girl and Flame events throughout the month of October.

Chef Evan Dannells | Lola's Hi/Lo Lounge | Madison "The Burrata Pie"

Chef Evan Dannells puts Crave Brothers Burrata at the center of The Burrata Pie, featuring a Calabrian cream sauce, mozzarella, cherry tomato confit, fresh basil and a finishing dollop of Crave Brothers' new Burrata. The recipe showcases the rich, creamy texture of burrata as a finishing element while pairing it with classic Italian-inspired flavors. The Burrata Pie will be available beginning in October at Lola's Hi/Lo Lounge.

Chef Marlee Crave | Fiddlehead Kitchen | St. Croix Falls "The Pizza Burger"

Chef Marlee Crave takes the pizza concept in an entirely different direction with The Pizza Burger, featuring fried Crave Brothers Mozzarella Medallions, tomato-butter sauce and fresh local arugula. The creation combines the familiar flavors of pizza with the format of a burger, showcasing the versatility of fresh mozzarella. The Pizza Burger will be available on burger night, Wednesdays throughout the month of October at Fiddlehead Kitchen.

National Pizza Month is celebrated throughout October, making the month an ideal opportunity to explore new approaches to one of America's favorite foods while celebrating the Wisconsin producers and culinary talent behind these creations.
