Village Park marks the developer's return to the Prosperity Church area, next door to its earlier Prosperity Village development
CHARLOTTE, N.C., Oct. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- National multifamily developer Wood Partners, in partnership with Sarofim Realty Advisors, will break ground in November on Village Park, a 372-unit multifamily community in Charlotte's Highland Creek and Prosperity Church area. The project is slated to open in May 2028. J.P. Morgan is providing financing.
Located at the corner of Prosperity Church and Benfield Roads, Village Park sits immediately next to Prosperity Village, a community Wood Partners previously developed. The site offers direct access to Interstate 485, putting Uptown Charlotte and Huntersville within an easy drive, and a Publix grocery store sits next door.
"We know this part of Charlotte well, and building next to Prosperity Village allows us to keep investing in the neighborhood," said Carter Siegel, Regional Director of Development at Wood Partners. "Residents will have I-485 at their doorstep, a grocery store they can walk to and a large park right on site. We're proud to be a part of this growing Charlotte neighborhood."
The community will include seven residential buildings and a standalone clubhouse and leasing center. The unit mix includes one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, along with six two-bedroom, two-bathroom carriage-house units. Five percent of the homes will be set aside as affordable housing for households earning up to 80% of the area median income.
Inside the clubhouse, residents will find a fitness center, coworking spaces and private offices, a coffee bar and a clubroom. Outdoor amenities include a resort-style pool with cabanas, a dog park and dog spa, a fire pit and grilling areas.
Open space plays a central role in the site plan. A large park with a gazebo and seating anchors the community, and a pond overlook, landscaped green space and new sidewalks will connect residents to the surrounding neighborhood. Wood Partners is coordinating with Mecklenburg County and the Charlotte Department of Transportation on the site's infrastructure improvements.
Village Park is Wood Partners' third community in the Prosperity Church area, following Alta Prosperity Village and the 238-unit Alta Croft, which opened in 2020. The firm has developed more than 22 communities in the Charlotte region, including the 302-unit Alta 10th and Seigle in Plaza Midwood and the 252-unit Altera Mint Hill in east Charlotte.
