Working For Women, a New Non-Profit, is Launched to Connect Businesses and Nonprofits To Elevate Underserved Women in the Workforce
NEW YORK, Dec. 11, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Working for Women, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization with a dual mission to enable businesses to be a force for social good AND elevate women in the workforce has been formed.
Working for Women, or W4W, makes it easy for businesses of any size committed to corporate social responsibility and backing women's issues to partner with nonprofits focused on the entry, training, education and support of women in the workforce.
In announcing the formation of W4W, Founder Beth Bengtson said, "There are hundreds of businesses with leaders and team members who want to make a difference in the world and their communities. Through W4W, these people and companies can see their contributions make a direct impact on women's lives. There is a renewed spotlight in many spheres of influence and industries on the advancement of women. Is that spotlight reaching all women? We think not. W4W is committed to expanding opportunities for underserved women and girls."
Specifically, W4W will:
- Identify and vet nonprofits focused on empowering and elevating women to economic security
- Work with these nonprofit partners to define projects that support their growth
- Activate businesses committed to corporate social responsibility and empowering women in the workforce
- Aggregate the financial and skill-based resources of those businesses to support the identified nonprofit projects
- Report out on impact of their collective efforts
"I invite companies of all sizes to join us. By becoming a Corporate Partner of W4W, businesses supporting women can multiply their impact by pooling their resources with other businesses to create lasting impact of elevating and empowering women to reach their personal and professional goals. Not only will these businesses become a force for social good, but their demonstrated commitment to support and advance underserved women will result in attracting and retaining employees and customers and in improved business performance," Ms. Bengtson concluded.
