World Bicycle Relief Welcomes New Board Members to Advance Global Mobility Solutions

CHICAGO, March 11, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- World Bicycle Relief (WBR), a global nonprofit social enterprise committed to mobilizing people through the Power of Bicycles, is pleased to announce the appointment of three distinguished leaders to its Board of Directors: Sybil Chidiac, Stan Getui, and John Grove. These accomplished professionals bring a wealth of expertise in women's economic empowerment, global health, financial strategy, and international development, further strengthening WBR's mission to provide life-changing mobility solutions in underserved communities.

Sybil Chidiac – Senior Program Officer, The Gates Foundation

A development professional with over 25 years of experience, Sybil Chidiac is global collaborator, strategist, and advocate of programs and initiatives that advance women's economic empowermentand financial inclusion through transformative philanthropic investing. She currently serves as a Senior Program Officer with the Gender Equality division at the Gates Foundation, where she leads a $36 million portfolio focused on advancing women's enterprise growth and workforce participation across Africa. 

Sybil has worked in over twenty countries, collaborating with government, the private sector, and multilateral organizations to co-design innovative financial inclusion and large-scale livelihood programs. Her leadership helped drive key policy changes, including Nigeria's first National Women's Economic Empowerment policy along with its domestication at the subnational level, the operationalization and registration of savings groups under Uganda's Tier 4 Microfinance Moneylender's Act, and the finalization of the first national SHG policy. Prior to the Gates Foundation, Sybil held senior positions at Grameen Foundation, Freedom from Hunger, and CARE USA, where she developed financial services for underserved populations and led digital solutions for savings groups and the banking sector.  

Stan Getui, CFA – Head of Access to Capacity Development and Ecosystem Building, Mastercard Foundation

Stan Getui is a finance and impact investment expert focused on driving inclusive economic growth and entrepreneurship. As Head of Access to Capacity Development and Ecosystem Building at Mastercard Foundation, he leads efforts to expand financial access, strengthen business ecosystems, and support small enterprises in Africa.

With a career spanning Luminate, Omidyar Network, Dalberg Global Development Advisors, and Deakin University, Stan has worked on investment strategy, financial modeling, and impact-driven economic initiatives. He specializes in leveraging capital to scale social enterprises and build resilient economic systems.

John Grove, PhD – Chief Evaluation & Learning Officer, The Global Fund

John Grove, PhD, is an international expert in global health policy, strategy, and evaluation. As the Global Fund's Chief Evaluation and Learning Officer, he oversees independent evaluation for large-scale health programs and ensures evidence-driven strategies to combat infectious diseases worldwide.

Previously, John served in senior leadership roles at the World Health Organization (WHO), including Director of Quality Assurance for Norms and Standards, where he helped shape global health technical guidance and policies. At the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, he was Deputy Director for Evidence and Policy in Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health, leading investments in health systems research and analytics. With eight years at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Africa, John brings deep expertise in disease surveillance, program monitoring, and healthcare policy.
