LONDON, August 4, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --

An innovative approach to charity fundraising is being launched by WorldSpreads, and UK financial commentator and author Alpesh Patel to support The British Asian Trust.  A unique spread betting platform for financial spread betting,'BATrustmarkets' allows traders to make charitable contributions that will transform lives in South Asia just by trading as usual.

Twenty per cent of the top line revenue from every spread bet made on 'BATrustmarkets' will be donated to The British Asian Trust to invest in high-impact charities across South Asia, focusing on education, health and livelihoods. The initiative was launched 21 July 2011 at The Oxford and Cambridge Club.

By trading as usual, traders can contribute to the work of The British Asian Trust to address the most pressing issues facing poor communities in South Asia, including massive youth unemployment. With 'BATrustmarkets', traders can help disadvantaged young people gain the skills and confidence to escape poverty.

"I believe this concept is a genuine advance in charitable giving," says Alpesh Patel, renowned authority on finances and BATrustmarkets co-founder. "Traders aren't charged anything extra. Brokers pay from their own top lines. We are just asking traders to do what they do anyway," he says.

Conor Foley, WorldSpreads CEO and Chairman, says; "I'm delighted to be extending our expertise for such a beneficial cause. I have every confidence that this unprecedented initiative will be a great success".

Manoj Badale, Chairman of The British Asian Trust, heralded the new concept in fundraising. "We welcome the opportunity to introduce this unique and effective approach to fundraising for lasting change in South Asia's poorest communities. We look forward to greatly increasing our impact in the critical areas of education, health and particularly livelihoods, in partnership with BATrustmarkets."
