CHICAGO, Sept. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- WovenX Health, a Chicago-based specialty care platform, today announced a GI procedure partner network spanning all 50 states and Washington, D.C., supporting the launch of a national colorectal cancer screening navigation program. Beginning next month, the program will help patients who receive a positive stool-based colorectal cancer screening result reach a follow-up colonoscopy on a prioritized basis.

The network builds on WovenX's Fast Track pathways, connecting patients who need follow-up care with participating GI practices and health systems. The initial phase focuses on patients who have initiated their own stool-based screening tests and may need help finding a provider and arranging a colonoscopy after a positive result.

A positive stool-based colorectal cancer screening test requires a follow-up colonoscopy to complete the screening process. Yet a 2023 study published in JAMA Network Open, involving more than 32,000 patients across 39 U.S. health care organizations, found that only 51.4% completed a colonoscopy within 180 days of a positive result.

Starting in 2027, health plans will be scored on whether patients with a positive stool-based colorectal cancer screening test actually get a follow-up colonoscopy. NCQA has added this as a new HEDIS measure, Follow-Up After Positive Colorectal Cancer Non-Invasive Screening Test (COF-E), reinforcing the importance of timely follow-up.

WovenX's program is designed to help close that gap. Patients will be offered navigation support when they receive a positive test result. Those who opt in can complete the Fast Track intake and select a participating GI provider in their area. The intake gathers information needed to assess procedural readiness, helping the receiving practice move forward with scheduling.
