Xiaomi Selects Agora to Power Mi AI Voice Calls
The new Mi AI enables built-in WiFi calling, no cellular network required
LOS ANGELES, Nov. 1, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Agora (www.agora.io), the global leader in real-time communications, today announced a partnership with the global electronics company Xiaomi to power voice-calling capabilities for Mi AI, the newly introduced voice-enabled assistant for the smart home.
While smart home assistants like Amazon Echo and Google Home enable voice calling through a connected smartphone's cellular network, Xiaomi and Agora are allowing users to make Internet voice calls directly from Mi AI. Designed to deliver crisp sound and perfect call quality, Mi AI assistant comes equipped with six microphones, creating a 360° sound field that can pick up user commands and deliver clear broadcasts anywhere in the room.
As the only VoIP communications provider selected for Mi AI and its AI software dubbed XiaoAI, Agora provides best-in-class call quality and low latency to ensure an uninterrupted user experience.
