LONDON, Feb. 8, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Xignite, the leading provider of market data cloud solutions for financial institutions and financial technology companies today announced it has expanded its relationship with independent investment research provider Morningstar, Inc. Xignite will add Morningstar global funds data into its Market Data Cloud platform and offer a new API, XigniteGlobalFundsFundamentals, which the company will introduce on stage today at Finovate Europe.

With the addition of the high-quality funds data from Morningstar, Xignite clients will have on-demand access to an even wider selection of global data points, including credit quality, risk statistics, strategy, top holdings, asset allocations, sector weightings on more than 290,000 funds from 74 countries, including ETFs, closed end funds, mutual funds, open ended funds, variable annuities, separate account/collective investment trusts and hedge funds. Previously Xignite only provided U.S. funds data from Morningstar.

Xignite's APIs suite features a range of market data, including real-time, historical and fundamental data from global markets across equities, funds, derivatives, fixed income and other asset classes. Xignite handles more than 250 billion API calls each month.
