Yamaha Enhances AVENTAGE AV Receivers, Adding Works with Sonos Certification

The new update provides seamless integration of
Yamaha AV receivers into a Sonos home sound system

HAMAMATSU, Japan, May 1, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Yamaha announced that its top-rated AVENTAGE line of AV receivers now features certified Works with Sonos integration, making it easier than ever to unite a Yamaha audio system with a Sonos system. This new capability, enabled through a free firmware update, is available for all four current AVENTAGE models — RX-A8A, RX-A6A, RX-A4A and RX-A2A — and offers seamless integration with a Sonos sound system using a Sonos Port.

The enhancement improves the AVENTAGE AV receiver experience, making it easier to bring together a Yamaha home theater with a Sonos whole home audio system. After a quick setup, the Sonos app can automatically power on the receiver, select a designated input and control the volume.

The setup of Works with Sonos is accomplished through the Yamaha MusicCast app. Yamaha AVENTAGE AV receivers will continue to support all MusicCast streaming and control capabilities.

Both the MusicCast app update and the firmware update for current AVENTAGE models that enable Works with Sonos are available to download now.
