YesterTec's Kitchen Workstation Furniture Continues to Hide Ovens with its New Generation 2 Technology
GEN2 controls feature updated designs, reduced costs and easier production that allow "hot" appliances to be safely concealed.
CENTER VALLEY, Pa., June 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- After six years of research, design, prototyping and extensive testing, YesterTec (http://www.yestertec.com) has received Underwriter Laboratories Certificate of Compliance (approval) for its new Generation 2 controls that allow the "hot" appliances like ovens and cook tops to be safely concealed inside its workstations.

David Beer, president and founder of YesterTec Design Company says, "The re-design project began as we realized that our supply chain of parts for our initial UL Listed controls was no longer available in the quantities we needed. So now the GEN2 controls have a simplified and secure supply chain and have locally-produced printed circuit board (PCB) construction instead of our previously hand wired units."
The new controls are much easier to produce, reduce costs and even include many new design features. YesterTec commends its team of consultant engineers, suppliers and the UL staff for enduring this very difficult project. YesterTec continues to lead the world in allowing "hot" kitchen appliances to be safely concealed inside their U.L. Listed enclosures.
YesterTec introduced Kitchen Workstation Furniture in 1998 as an alternative way of designing kitchens compared to using continuous bands of cabinetry and countertops.
The super efficient, freestanding Workstations can blend into other adjacent rooms better because there are spaces between each piece that allow the character of the adjacent room to flow seamlessly into the kitchen area. A furnished kitchen has a lived-in aura. It doesn't have that typical "laboratory" look because full height windows, patio doors, artwork and antiques can be integrated between the workstations.
Beer says, "We learned early on that if we wanted to create real furniture to be compatible with a multitude of room design themes, it could not be compromised by the look of modern appliances." That is what led to the development of the technology to safely hide the "hot" appliances. He continues, "Pocket doors hide the appliances from view, but when the doors are opened and disappear into their pockets, they hit switches that allow the appliances to power up. The doors that hide the high powered ovens even lock in place until the oven has cooled off."
