TYSONS, Va., Sept. 24, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Permuta Technologies today published the 3rd in a Series of Whitepapers focused on AI and government, "You Can't Permission Your Way Out of Surveillance at Scale," examining the structural risks of AI enabled, government facing data fusion at national scale. The whitepaper responds to Palantir's "Institutional Sovereignty in the Age of AI" framing by arguing that while protections like zero data retention, model agnostic architecture, granular permissions, and continuous audit logging are important for third party model providers, they do not address the separate and higher stakes risk that a single vendor ontology can concentrate deeply sensitive citizen data across agencies such as immigration, tax, health, and defense. Using the UK NHS Federated Data Platform as a cautionary example, the paper concludes that sovereignty is determined at adoption, and that permissioning and logging can monitor concentration but cannot undo it once it exists.
