LINCOLNSHIRE, Ill., Jan. 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Zebra Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ: ZBRA), a global leader in products and services that provide real-time visibility into organizations' assets, people and transactions, recently received the Good Design Award® for the DS4800 Series Scanner and the TC55 Touch Computer.
The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design and Metropolitan Arts Press Ltd. present the annual awards for the most innovative and cutting-edge industrial, product, and graphic designs produced around the world.
- The DS4800 Series of 2D array imagers offer enterprise-class scanning capabilities in a modern industrial design to enhance the retail point of sale (POS) environment. It is the industry's first scanner to include a capacitive trigger that allows retailers to select the scanning input modality (tap/swipe/press) to provide optimal productivity and customer experience.
- The TC55 combines the features of a traditional enterprise-class mobile computer with the form factor and functionality of a smartphone running the Jelly Bean version of the Android operating system (OS). The pocket-sized, all-touch computer has integrated data capture capabilities and is built to withstand the wear and tear of industrial environments.
- Now in its 64th year, Good Design honors the annual achievements of the best industrial and graphic designers and world manufacturers for their pursuit of extraordinary design excellence.
