Zillow Hosting Tech Volunteer Fair in Seattle on May 19

SEATTLE, March 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Zillow announced it will host a Tech Volunteer Fair in its Seattle office on May 19 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Tech Volunteer Fair will connect local Seattle nonprofits with technology experts who can assist organizations with their technology needs on a volunteer basis. The event is open to anyone and is free to attend, both for nonprofits and potential volunteers.

"At Zillow, we have a grassroots philanthropy program called Zillow Gives Back," said Rebekah Bastian, Zillow vice president of product. "Our employees have a done great job with initiatives like fundraising and donation drives, but in our conversations with the local nonprofits we heard their need for skill-based volunteers. We knew we could rally Zillow employees, but we wanted to take it a step further and engage the broader Seattle tech community. We knew there would be more talented and passionate people interested in connecting with a nonprofit to donate their time and skills."

Zillow is seeking 20 to 30 nonprofits, defined as a Washington-based 501(c)(3), that are in need of volunteers with technology skills. Nonprofits that fit the description simply need to submit a proposal by April 1 which outlines clearly defined, limited-scope projects that are in need of technical help.
