NEW YORK, May 8, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- In support of the mission of the American Lung Association's LUNG FORCE initiative, the public will have a special opportunity in May to engage directly with people who are willing to share their personal lung cancer experiences and medical expertise on live video. Broadcasts will be available for free on ZubiaLive, the health & wellness live-streaming video broadcast community.
LUNG FORCE is a national initiative led by the American Lung Association to unite women and men against lung cancer, the leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States. LUNG FORCE aims to defeat lung cancer by increasing awareness, educating and empowering patients and healthcare providers, and raising critical funds for research.
Everyone is welcome to join the broadcasts, ask questions, and learn from our hosts who include, Andrea McKee, M.D., an oncologist and lung cancer screening expert, and volunteer spokesperson for the American Lung Association. Also included in the live video series are LUNG FORCE Heroes Pamela B, a lung cancer survivor and Amy L, a caregiver. These women are speaking out to improve public understanding and awareness of lung cancer and educate on screening options and the importance of early detection. The three-part series will start on Thursday, May 11 at 12 p.m. ET with Dr. McKee, followed by Amy L. on Monday, May 15 at 1:00 p.m. ET and concluding with Pamela B. on Thursday, May 18 at 7:00 p.m. ET.
