
100 Gay Men Receives Designation as 501(c)(3) Nonprofit
LOS ANGELES, Jan. 11, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- 100 Gay Men receives designation as a nonprofit corporation under 501(c)(3). The group has been in operation since July 2009, and has been self-sustaining through contributions from individual members and donors. To date, we have over 100 active members in Southern California Region and growing. Individuals in San Francisco, San Diego, Chicago, New York and Atlanta have expressed interest in chartering 100 Gay Men affiliate organizations in their cities. Having received 501(c)(3) designation, the 100 Gay Men organization has begun to raise funds to support grassroots community service projects.
The mission of 100 Gay Men is to harness the unique talents, resources and energies of adult gay men for the betterment and continuing evolution of diverse communities. 100 Gay Men is planning their first community conference to be held on Saturday, February 26, titled "The Gay Adult; Calling Ourselves into Being – A Day of Intergenerational Dialogue." The conference will take place at the Renberg Theatre located at The Village at Ed Gould Plaza in Los Angeles. This conference will be a pioneering day of dialogue to explore the role of gay adults in the community while highlighting the unique gifts and talents of gay people. Among other community leaders, featured speakers include Rev. Dr. Neil Thomas, Pastor of the Metropolitan Community Church of Los Angeles, and Carlos Sosa, Executive Director of Community Intervention Through Youth (C.I.T.Y.) x1, a grassroots organization that creates community, promotes diversity and empowers LGBTQ youth. This project is funded in part by a grant from the City of Los Angeles, Department of Cultural Affairs.

100 Gay Men is a nonprofit organization located in Los Angeles, California consisting of gay men who have joined together to make a difference by supporting local service projects and grassroots community initiatives. (a nonprofit gay youth mentoring program and performance showcase).
