10th Annual Love of Literacy Campaign Provides Hundreds of Children's Books to "Readers Are Leaders"

LEESBURG, Va., May 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Annual BeanTree Learning Family Picnic on May 2^nd was another resounding success, collecting hundreds of children's books on behalf of worthwhile organizations in Loudoun and Fairfax Counties to promote early literacy. This year, the non-profit group, Readers Are Leaders, is the beneficiary from BeanTree's Love of Literacy campaign donations.

BeanTree Learning owner/founder Jennifer Bower is joined by students of the Northern Virginia based campuses in presenting children's books to Wendell Byrd, founder of non-profit group, Readers are Leaders. The 10th annual BeanTree Learning "Love of Literacy" book drive raised hundreds of books for the local organization designed to promote early literacy in children throughout Loudoun and Fairfax Counties.

Wendell Byrd, the founder of Readers Are Leaders, is a longtime Fairfax County educator and BeanTree Summer Camp Basketball Coach, and expressed his gratitude to all of the families, students, and educators in Northern Virginia who contributed the books. "Reading programs have proven to be a decisive advantage in maximizing every child's development, both academically and in their personal lives," said Byrd. "We are very appreciative to the BeanTree organization and the many families and academic professionals who have given us their support this year."
