2010 IABC/Pittsburgh Golden Triangle Awards Honor Best in Communications
PITTSBURGH, Oct. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- IABC welcomed more than 120 of the region's most accomplished communications, marketing and public relations professionals to The University Club in Oakland to celebrate excellence in communications on Thursday evening. More than 100 entries were received for the 2010 competition.

The Best in Show Award went to The University of Pittsburgh for Newspaper of Record: The Pittsburgh Courier, culminating the entry's three Awards of Excellence in the Communication Management and Communication Creative divisions.
Master of Ceremonies Dave Crawley of KDKA-TVs KD Country presented Crystal Awards of Excellence for the best entries and crystal Awards of Honor for outstanding runners-up at the 31st annual event. Sixty finalists received awards of excellence or honor in 30 categories for Communication Management, Communication Skills and Communication Creative.
Dr. Carol Utay was honored with the 2010 Business Communicator of the Year Award. Dr. Utay is the co-founder and executive director of Total Learning Centers, Inc. Dr. Utay has been widely recognized for business leadership and achievement, including being a past recipient of the prestigious ATHENA award. Dr. Utay co-wrote the "Empathy in Education" series, a teaching tool for educators, other professionals and parents that is used around the country to simulate the first-hand experience of those with learning disabilities.
