SAN DIEGO, Feb. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- The 2010 Board has been announced for the 24th Annual La Jolla Festival of the Arts, scheduled for June 26-27 on the UCSD Campus. Board members who have been selected for the 2010 show include Don Ludwig (Chairman), Ronn Rohe, Robert Metz, Shelly Hall, Larry Burdt, Peter Ballantyne, Jim Spievak, Ted Pena, Will Rogers, Steven Goldstein, Charlotte Goldstein, Roy Warfield, Bob Sarlin and Carol Holland.
Produced annually by the Torrey Pines Kiwanis Foundation, the Festival's mission is to provide the highest quality arts and entertainment experience in support of recreational and educational programs for San Diegans with disabilities.
The La Jolla Festival of the Arts is renowned as one of the top rated art shows in the West as the Festival hosts nearly 200 award-winning local and national artists from various artistic disciplines. Event attendees will enjoy a variety of cuisines in the festival food area, view and interact with nationally recognized Madonnari (chalk artists) as they turn an asphalt canvas into a beautiful street of colors, view a variety of stage music each day, and take their children to the dedicated children's area with interactive booths, hands-on games and activities.
This year will also include celebrity and chef author lectures/demonstrations and book signings, a unique car show, and live music performed throughout the venue.
Since the Festival's inception, the Torrey Pines Kiwanis Foundation has donated nearly $1 million in funds to programs for San Diegans with disabilities. With the support of these proceeds, the beneficiaries continue their efforts in pioneering programs and fostering the enjoyment of sports and hobbies to children and adults in the disabled community, building self-esteem, and bringing joy to life.
The La Jolla Festival of the Arts will take place on Saturday, June 26th and Sunday, June 27th, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the University of California San Diego's East Campus, located at Genesee Avenue and Regents Road. Admission price is $10 and children 10 and under are free. For general information about this year's Festival call (858) 456-1268, e-mail [email protected] or visit www.lajollaartfestival.org.
