The Meridium APM Awards program provides APM professionals across the enterprise with the opportunity to be recognized by peers for innovation, program success, best practice development, and overall achievement in the field of asset performance management.
The APM Enterprise Technology Award, won this year by Marathon Petroleum Company of Finley, Ohio (USA), is presented to the company that develops and implements an IT solution which eliminates or integrates the most number of stand-alone solutions, and effectively reduces the silos of data in their organizations. Marathon was selected based on the "Meridium One" project that consolidates multiple refining databases and terminals into one centralized SQL database. Additionally the project resulted in an increase in knowledge sharing across Marathon locations and significant IT hours saved.
The winner of the 2012 Asset Performance Management Best Practice Award was NOVA Chemicals of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The APM Best Practice Award recognizes the company that develops a pioneering best practice that optimizes an APM process. NOVA Chemicals was selected based on their APM initiative to develop and validate a best practice for the improvement of NOVA's APM data foundation and analysis for eliminating bad actors. The award also recognizes the key success factors of this initiative including the culture and people, NOVA's work processes, and the technology used to initiate the best practices.
The winner of the 2012 Asset Performance Management Innovation Award was EDF Energy of Nottingham, United Kingdom. The APM Innovation Award recognizes the company that developed and implemented new and innovative uses of APM for changing work processes within their industry and enabling sustainable value. EDF was selected based on the success and innovative approach to their overall asset management policy. EDF's unique application of Meridium and Emerson technologies supported and enabled world class asset management at EDF's West Burton station.
