WALNUT CREEK, Calif., Aug. 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Fall Ball registrations are being taken through Aug 17th for Walnut Creek youth baseball Pony League. Fall Ball will focus on teaching, developing, and training for all age groups of 9U through 14U. The 9U – 11U teams will play 8-10 games in league play, and the 12U-14U teams will play in three tournaments. Tryouts will be held in late-August for the 12U-14U teams.
Free clinics are held each Sunday in August. Conditioning, base running, infield defense, and outfield defense will be covered during these clinics. Check out our website at www.walnutcreekpony.org for details.
In addition to the clinics and games, our fall program includes one practice per week using a structured practice plan developed by our coaches. The 9U-11U practices and games will be run by selected parent coaches with guidance from our Director of Training to ensure consistent training and development. Our 12U-14U practices and games will be run by professional coaches. The practices will be held at Northgate and Heather Farms in Walnut Creek.
Also included in our fall program is 24 hours of indoor facility time for each team. Half of these hours will be run by a professional instructor with 4 players per session. Sessions will include hitting, pitching, and catching drills and instruction.
Players who register for the Walnut Creek Pony fall ball program can take advantage of a membership program to the indoor facility. Memberships are for 2 months to coincide with the fall ball season. Eight, six, and four hour memberships are available and can be used to access hitting or pitching cages.
Walnut Creek Pony Baseball is also excited to announce the opening of a Bulldawg Academy for 2012!! The Academy is for players 7U and 8U, and will consist of two 90-minute sessions per week conducted by our professional trainers. That's 24 hours of professional training for only $175.
