2013 indieProducer Screenplay Winners Announced

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 28, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/-- indieProducer, one of the film industry's most recognized sources for finding new screenwriting talent, announced the winners of its 10th Annual Screenplay Competition.

Each year our finalist and winning scripts are read for option consideration by dozens of high profile producers, talent agents, and studio executives, giving aspiring screenwriters the best possible platform to showcase their work.

In the Feature-length Narrative competition, Jaydn Stepick won first place for her comedy, ALMOST A HITMAN about a peaceful, pencil-pushing family man. Desperate to find a job, he accepts his best friend's limited-time offer to become a "part-time hitman", but struggles as he becomes an in-demand, gun-toting Mafioso, he jeopardizes both his life and happy home.

Second place in the Feature-length Narrative competition went to THE UNDERSTUDIES by Rodney Johnson and Third place to RIPPLES OF ILLUSION by Gorby Shih.

In the Short Script Narrative competition, John Burdeaux won first place for his script, THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN CHECKED FOR SLEEPING CHILDREN.  In it a school bus driver is toyed with by a menacing presence in the last row of his vehicle.

Second place in the Short Script Narrative competition went to THE MEMORIES OF OTHERS by Conor M. O'Brien, Third place to SITTER by David Blaschak and Jennifer Harrison and fourth place to PLAY UNDEAD by Mark Cooper.
