2013 Salute to Heroes Friends & Family Fair
A Day of Fun for Everyone!
TEMECULA, Calif., Sept. 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Veterans Supplemental Support Network (VSSN), the City of Temecula, Temecula Vet Center and Paradise Chevrolet present the 2013 Salute to Heroes Friends and Family Fair. "This is a community event that everyone can enjoy while showing their appreciation to local heroes," says VSSN's Executive Director Daisy Tate. Some of the heroes being celebrated include (but not limited to) law enforcement, fire responders, EMTs, military, veterans, teachers and their families from 12:00pm-5:00pm on 41000 Main St in Old Town Temecula's town square! FREE Carl's Jr. will be given to the first 300-500 heroes with appropriate ID for the first 2 hours or while supplies last.
Attendees from all over the Southwest Region Riverside County and Southern California will enjoy tons of hands on activities, live entertainment, car shows, face painting, air brush tattoos, products and resources to fill the streets, delicious carnival style food from our food trucks including: Carl's Jr., Kona Ice, The Feeding Frenzy and many more food and beverages, free giveaways (over $3000 in value) to include the grand prize of a Wii U, Olive Garden, Shogun, CPK & Tilted Kilt gift cards, Comfort Inn Suites gift certificates, American Laser $100 certificates, Dom Perignon Champagne, kids bikes, and more!
Schedule of Daily Events
11:30 am Registration Opens.
12:00pm Event Opens & Presentation of Colors. Senator Joel Anderson and Congressman Duncan Hunter endorsed certificates to local elementary, middle and high schools (within Murrieta; MVUSD, Temecula; TVUSD, Lake Elsinore LEUSD) and volunteers within the valley for going above and beyond to support heroes.
12:30-4:30pm Performances from dance teams; MMA, Karate, and Jazzercise demos, with special performance from the Frutrell Boys Jackson 5 tribute band.
12:20pm-4:50pm: Giveaways will be distributed on every 20 and 50 past the hour.
This is an admissions FREE event so grab your blanket or lawn chair and hang out with a hero for the day!
Veterans Supplemental Support Network's (www.vetsupportnet.org) mission is to end and prevent homelessness, hunger, and hardship amongst veterans and transitioning military service members and their families by providing emergency food, toiletries, and resource connections to education and employment opportunities. VSSN is prepared to provide resources to 238 Vet Centers nationwide and serves over 1900 families in the southwest region of Riverside.
