4 Star Summer Camps Expands Academic Programs at the University of Virginia
FALLS CHURCH, Va., April 14 /PRNewswire/ -- 4 Star Camps (http://www.4starcamps.com) announced today that they have expanded their Academic Camp offerings for 2010 to include one-week programs in addition to their traditional two-week programs. These new opportunities offer unique courses for both junior and senior high school students. The junior high courses include writers forum, math & engineering, and fashion design. The senior high courses include SAT Prep (by Cambridge Educational Services, Inc.), college prep and writers symposium. Each student will select one three-hour intensive course that extends all five days.
"We continue to look for ways to offer unique programs for our students," said Lisa Popple, 4 Star Camps' Academic Director. "The one-week programs are designed to allow students to take a more intensive approach to a subject over a shorter time period while still offering them the same great afternoon and evening activities that have been the hallmark of our success." The one-week programs will be offered twice this summer - June 27-July 2 and Aug. 1-6. Students participate in class during the morning and can select from several afternoon activities to include tennis, golf, basketball, personal fitness, recreational sports or fine arts workshops (music theory or principles of art).
"Offering a variety of programs is critical to the growth of our students," said Mitch Popple, Executive Director. "We want to expose as many kids as possible to this fantastic opportunity to live, learn and establish lasting friendships at one of the most prestigious universities in the country." 4 Star Camps also provides valuable life lessons outside of the classroom, including discipline, teamwork, problem-solving, and tolerance of other lifestyles and cultures.
