"As the entire world celebrates soccer we are reminded of the healing power of sport," said Ori Winitzer Founder & Board Chairman of Soccer for Peace. "We thank Jose Cuervo for supporting our peace-building efforts. Their contribution will allow us to continue forging lasting international friendships through soccer," he adds.
Winitzer took a moment to share some of the organization's achievements and talked about the Soccer For Peace programming which occurs mainly in Israel, and is comprised of an overnight summer camp and year-long after school program for Arab and Jewish children. Both programs are built upon the same pillars of intensive soccer training, facilitated dialogue workshops, and social activities and excursions.
"Jose Cuervo is culminating a three-year campaign that is focused on inviting fans to live responsibly," said Christina Hsu. "We are proud of the brand's designation as official sponsor of the US National Soccer team and our contribution to Soccer for Peace is a great way to celebrate the sport as the world's most important soccer tournament gets underway."
Some 400 adult professionals from the worlds of media, fashion, and finance attended the party. Everyone celebrated Dempsey's bouncing shot which tied the game 1-1.
