485 Claims Acquired on the Pershing Pass Project Located in Pershing County, Nevada

HILTON HEAD, S.C., Sept. 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Silver Scott Mines, Inc. (OTC: SILS.pk) is pleased to announce acquisition by the company of 485 mineral claims in central Pershing County, Nevada.  The unpatented mining claims cover about 10,000 acres (~ 4050 hectares) where outcropping mineralized sedimentary rocks and alteration are similar to the other nearby gold deposits such as the Willard (Willco) mine, and the Spring Valley gold deposit.

Eighty-five reconnaissance geochemical rock chip samples utilizing multi-element analysis have been reviewed and the results are very encouraging with anomalous gold and pathfinder elements present.  Limited chip and grab rock geochemical samples were taken along a six kilometer portion of the length of the alteration system for verification of the presence of favorable geochemistry indicative of a larger mineralized system.  These samples returned numerous anomalous gold and silver values along the trend including up to 6.97 ppm Au and 233 ppm Ag.

To further verify and investigate the size of the mineralized system, two geophysical Reconnaissance Induced Polarization (RIP) arrays were completed in the claim area.  John Reynolds, Geophysicist for the Company commented:  "The two completed RIP arrays contain anomalous polarization and resistivity responses consistent with Nevada sulfide-based mineralized systems.  However, the overall response suggests a potential for significant depth of oxidation in portions of this mineralized region."  Polarization values obtained, although low amplitude, reflects a combination of anomalous altered and pyritized sedimentary host rocks.  Additional overlapping survey centers will be required to fully map the mineralized systems.

Mel Herdrick, Chief Geologist for the Company, stated that based on his experience working in large bulk minable mineral trends in North America, the potential exists in the Pershing Pass project area for a sizeable gold-silver deposit.  "Significant mapping and sampling remains to be completed over the next 6 months to explore this area's potential for large resources, however, I am highly encouraged by the results so far."  

The Humboldt Gold Belt includes Spring Valley on the north, the Rochester and Nevada Packard deposits centrally, the Relief Canyon Mine in the south central part of the belt, and then extends into the Pershing Pass area on the south.  The Company data review covering the District, particularly aided by the published aeromagnetic data, show a probable batholithic contact at depth with its western side boundary continuing southerly into the Pershing Pass area.  The recently completed field exploration confirmed this concept with the discovery of altered porphyritic dikes in some of the historic Pershing Pass underground workings.

Additional mapping and sampling combined with geophysical exploration and remote sensing studies designed to assist the targeting are currently underway with additional technical studies planned for the next 6 to 12 months.  Drilling is expected to follow definition of viable gold-silver targets in mid to late 2012.
