ANN ARBOR, Mich., May 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Kite Network, a local non-profit that provides peer-to-peer grief counseling free of charge to residents of Washtenaw County, will host its second annual 5K Fun Run and one mile family walk this Saturday, May 18, 2013.

The race will take place at Hudson Mills Metropark in Dexter at 9 a.m. and is open to runners of all levels and families. Participants are encouraged to register online to enjoy a day of exercise and community involvement, while helping to raise funds for this important service in Washtenaw County.
"We help people regain a sense of normalcy and hope after the loss of a loved one. By connecting those who have experienced loss with others who truly understand, we walk with them on the journey through grief," said Julie Stotlar, co-founder of The Kite Network.
Funds raised through the annual 5K Fun Run and Family Walk support the organization's mission to offer free grief counseling services to area residents in need.
Packet pick up time is Friday, May 17 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Arbor Room at the Holiday Inn near the University of Michigan, 3600 Plymouth Road, Ann Arbor, Mich. Race day pick-up is Saturday, May 18 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. For more information visit www.thekitenetwork.org.
