970 AvonFest, a Three-Day Celebration of Endurance Sports

CHARLOTTE, N.C., May 17, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Major League Triathlon (MLT) is excited to announce 970 AvonFest, a three-day festival celebrating endurance sports and the Town of Avon, Colorado. 970 AvonFest will host its inaugural event on the weekend of September 6^th-8^th, 2019. The three-day festival weekend will feature triathlon, running, cycling and swimming events for amateur and professional athletes. 970 AvonFest will also feature two days of free concerts, kids zones (inflatables and games), food vendors, interactive expo, beer + wine garden, VIP hospitality, lawn games, and much more.

Adding to the excitement, the Mixed Team Relay format was recently announced as one of the newest additions to the Olympic medal events at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. MLT will have some of the top professional athletes in the world racing, including olympians and world champions.  All of the action will take place in Harry A. Nottingham Park in Avon within a one-mile radius.

In addition to the Olympic caliber athletes that will descend upon Avon, there will be eight endurance events that are on offer for amateur athletes throughout the weekend. These events include:

-Non-Draft Sprint Triathlon
-Super Sprint Draft Legal Triathlon
-Mixed Team Relay Amateur Triathlon
-5k for an IPA
-970 AvonFest Beer Mile
-Bark in the Park 5k Run + Walk
-Youth Splash and Dash
-970 AvonFest Tour de Lettuce Gravel Grinder
