A Conversation with Dr. Michel Innocent Peya
WASHINGTON, July 8, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The following is being released by African & American Social Economic Exchange Project (AASEP):
Michel Innocent Peya of the Republic of Congo-Brazzaville, and author of Between Common Sense and Absolute Power Change: Africa at the Crossroads (Released 2014) has written a sociological observation of man, the African man, in particular, in terms of his relationship with the political, economic and sociocultural environment. Dr. Peya constructs a veritable diagnosis of the afflictions that are debilitating African nations, by pointing the finger at the dysfunctional nature of African institutions and their effect on social life. The principal focus of his book is on democratic practices in African States since the La Baule Summit of June 20, 1990.
Between Common Sense and Absolute Power Change: Africa at the Crossroads has been well received, discussed, and debated by audiences at prestigious Universities, and political environments in Africa, France, Belgium, and Germany.
Dr. Peya, like Henri Fayol, envisions the organization of modern African societies as a "Unity of Meaning," and a "Unity of Order." As such, different leaders and their people must work together in harmony on common projects for sustainable development, for a lasting peace, and for an enduring stability. Indeed, he has travelled extensively in Africa and Europe to help foster a legitimate road to achieving this very goal for all of Africa. He also speaks frankly about the potential devastation and loss to humanity if we do not embrace a new, more practical approach to Democracy in Africa.
Dr. Peya is just returning from his visit with François Hollande, the President of France. He will be in Washington to discuss his book and share his views in conversations at the National Press Club, the National Endowment for Democracy, and to meet privately with several dignitaries.
Dr. Peya received his Doctorate in Financial Management from the Universite libre de Bruxelles (Free University of Brussels). He is also the recipient of a Ph.D. Honoris Causa in Political Science, with a focus on Peace and Conflict Prevention, from the Obiang Nguema Mbasogo Polytechnical University of Benin.
