Dr. David Jeremiah Issues Statement on the Passing of Dr. James Dobson

SAN DIEGO, Aug. 21, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Few organizations have impacted the faith and family culture of America as much as Dr. James Dobson's Focus on the Family. A long-time friend, James dedicated his life to campaigning for biblical values and the centrality of family in our lives.

I met James in the mid-seventies while pastoring at Blackhawk Baptist Church in Indiana, and he was the kind of friend that even if we had not seen each other in a while, we could pick up right where we left off. He was a friend, husband, father, psychologist, author, broadcaster, and cultural advisor to multiple Presidents. His life was spent in service to others, always working to make the world a better place. He leaves an immense legacy and the organizations he founded, Focus on the Family and the Dr. James Dobson Family Institute, will continue to have an impact for generations to come.

While we mourn the passing of James, we can stand firm in the knowledge that the psalmist tells us, "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints" (Psalm 116:15).
