BAY SHORE, N.Y., May 8, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The LandTek Group, A TenCate Company, is playing a major role in the transformation of the iconic Oakland Coliseum for Cognizant Major League Cricket (MLC). The Coliseum, which has hosted baseball and American football since 1966, will be modified to accommodate nine MLC fixtures in 2025, including the installation of specialized drop-in pitches to meet international standards. These drop-in pitches are upcycled from the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup hosted at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in Eisenhower Park, NY.

The upcycled 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup drop-in pitches are craned onto flatbed trucks to be transported to the Oakland Coliseum in California.

Members of the LandTek Grounds Crew secure the drop-in pitches and individually wrap them to protect the soil and grass from drying out during the trip.

Four flatbed trucks carrying the drop-in pitches, along with two other trucks carrying maintenance equipment, start their 2,900-mile journey from New York to California for the Cognizant Major League Cricket (MLC) fixtures in June.

LandTek's professional grounds team will oversee the extraction, preparation, and transportation of the drop-in pitches across 2,900 miles from Long Island, NY, to the Oakland Coliseum in California. Once in California, LandTek will work with the Australian Grounds team from Adelaide Oval on maintaining the pitches and monitoring the grow-in process, while the LandTek sports construction team prepares the coliseum grounds for the 9 MLC fixtures.
