A. Schulman Expands Support for Polymer Research at the University of Akron
AKRON, Ohio, July 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- A. Schulman, Inc. (Nasdaq: SHLM) announced today that, as part of its ongoing collaboration with the University of Akron, it is donating $120,000 worth of laboratory equipment to the College of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering.

The equipment donation includes microscopes, chillers, vacuum ovens, scales and blending equipment to be used in the university's research and laboratory facilities.

The University of Akron's College of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering is the world's first, and the nation's largest, academic program devoted to the study of polymers. With 34 faculty members, five endowed professorships and chairs, and 300 graduate and post-doctoral students, the college's distinguished faculty and student body represent one of the world's largest concentrations of polymer expertise. In late 2010, the College will open its fifth campus facility, the 42,750-square-foot National Polymer Innovation Center.
