DALLAS, Feb. 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The 2011 AAF Dallas ADDY® Awards show, held last night at Edison's, celebrated the Dallas-area's creative excellence. This year's sold-out ADDY event spotlighted the personal tales of creative woe that lie behind so many great advertisements.
Out of more than 400 entries, 44 entries took home Dallas ADDY Gold, all of which automatically advance to the AAF District 10 regional ADDY competition. Go to www.aafdallas.org for a complete listing of winners, including TracyLocke for Best of Show, the highest honor awarded in the ADDY competition, given by the judges to the one single piece considered to be the best among all of the entries.
"AAF Dallas strives to elevate the success of the advertising community through education, and we were pleased to have four prestigious North Texas schools participate in the Dallas ADDY Awards competition," said Gayle Boone, AAF Dallas president.
Entering student ADDY categories for first time and winning Best of Show among local student entries was The Art Institute of Dallas.
Boone also noted an overall trend in the Dallas ADDY Awards this year included an increase in non-traditional entries, grass roots initiatives, and an emphasis on innovation. With the exceptions of public service advertising for the arts and advertising industry self-promotion categories, work entered must have been the result of paid creative services and media placement in the normal course of business.
