In a tragic turn of events, the teenager was pursued by six squad cars on the streets of Los Angeles for failure to heed a routine traffic stop which ultimately ended in his death on a major Los Angeles freeway. Mr. Arian was chased by police until he stopped his vehicle on a major Southern California freeway. Within moments of getting out of his vehicle, holding nothing more than a cell phone, eight Los Angeles Police Officers fired approximately 120 rounds into the unarmed young man, killing him.
The family will be represented by Jeffrey M. Galen, a highly respected Attorney with substantial trial experience and an emphasis on civil litigation, civil rights and police misconduct. Mr. Galen's legal expertise has been employed by multiple international Fortune 500 corporations and has been lead counsel in numerous multi-million dollar cases. Mr. Galen is joined by Co-Counsel William Margolin, a 20 year member of the Consumer Attorney Association of Los Angeles and California and named as a Super Lawyer in Los Angeles magazine for the past four years.
There will be a full investigation into police conduct that ultimately destroyed the young life of a 19 year old American citizen. On April 16, 2012, Mr. Galen filed a claim against the City of Los Angeles on behalf of the Arian Family for $120 Million, for the actions of the eight officers who shot approximately fifteen rounds each at Mr. Arian. This equates to one million dollars per bullet in compensation for the grieving family. It is the hope of Mr. Galen that this action will result in the reform of officer training and cultural diversity. The city has 45 days to respond to the claim.
The funeral for Abdul Arian will take place on Tuesday, April 17th, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. PT at Pierce Brothers Valhalla, 10621 Victory Blvd., North Hollywood, California. A press conference will be held before the funeral at 12 Noon PT at the cemetery. For more information contact us directly:
