WASHINGTON, Nov. 8, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Abengoa (MCE: ABG.B/P SM /NASDAQ: ABGB), the international company that applies innovative technology solutions for sustainability in the energy and environment sectors, has been selected by AES Gener, one of the leading energy companies in Chile, to develop a new reverse osmosis desalination plant for AES Gener's Angamos power plant.

Abengoa will manage the engineering, construction and subsequent operation of the project which will have a total budget of US$ 26 million and will provide 19,200 m3/day of water for reliable energy generation for Angamos and third party clients.
