NEW YORK, Sept. 28, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Acacia Network's long standing history of serving communities is celebrated once a year at our Annual Gala taking place October 11, 2018, from 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm at the New York Midtown Hilton Hotel located at 1335 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY. This annual event raises awareness and funds for the important work that Acacia does throughout New York State and the nation in Connecticut, Maryland, Florida, Georgia, Washington, and Puerto Rico. Nearly 500 people gather to celebrate the organization's top partners and advocates, showcasing their contributions to our work and the communities we serve.
MEET OUR HONOREES:
ORGULLO NUESTRO AWARD
This year's Orgullo Nuestro Award is presented to Ms. Helen Ceballos for her commitment and dedication to our work in Puerto Rico. A community leader, activist, artist, and multimedia performer, Ms. Ceballos has brought to life our work on the Island with a focus on serving those most affected by Hurricane Maria.
CORPORATE PARTNER AWARD
Acacia's Corporate Partner of the Year Award is presented to Mr. Don Manning, Area Executive Vice President of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., for more than 25 years of partnership with Acacia Network. Acacia thanks Mr. Manning for being a true partner and supporter of our mission, always ready to work together and invest in the community we serve!
LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
Congratulations to our Lifetime Achievement Awardee Mr. Carlos Pagan. Mr. Pagan is a pioneer in the substance use arena, and a trailblazer in the Latino recovery community in New York State. His work helped frame policies and legislation throughout the state, and set the stage for much of what we do at Acacia today!
Meet our entertainment for the evening: Hermanos Sanz, a musical group founded by siblings Luis and Lisvette Sanz, young musicians and singer-songwriters. They have performed with the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra and have given many workshops in France, Spain, Corsica, Cuba and the United States. Just this year, Luis headlined the Latin Grammy Award show and collaborated on music for a new film. Ricardo Villarini from Noticiero 47 Telemundo will serve as the evening's Master of Ceremony.
"We are just a few weeks away from the 2018 Acacia Gala where we will honor local and national leaders and influencers whose work positively impacts our communities. Come celebrate with us and acknowledge the power of leaders as advocates and innovators!" stated Raul Russi, CEO Acacia Network.
