CHICAGO, June 9, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - Accedian Networks, the Performance Assurance Solution Specialist, today announced the launch of its new TCP/PM solution—the first network-embedded, standards-based method for real-time, continuous monitoring of TCP transmission capacity, which is critical for quickly identifying and remediating network performance bottlenecks. The solution was unveiled today at Light Reading's Big Telecom Event (BTE) in Chicago.
This development empowers service providers with the ability—for the first time—to truly "see what their customers see" when using the internet, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications, and cloud-hosted IT infrastructure. TCP/PM represents what has been called the missing key performance indicator (KPI) since the birth of the internet. Specifically designed for service providers, TCP/PM works within the network itself to continuously assess TCP transmission capacity, and rapidly detect and isolate impairments that are exclusively within the provider's control. Real-time, actionable alerts and precise capacity trending enable providers to immediately detect TCP bottlenecks within their network, and advise customers when issues are theirs to solve.
Until TCP/PM was developed, there was no method available to continuously assess TCP throughput capacity without negatively impacting customer traffic. TCP/PM avoids the drawbacks of intrusive and high-bandwidth traffic streams produced by traditional speed tests by keeping precise and surgically inserted test packets to a minimum. TCP/PM is complementary to traditional methods used for turn-up and troubleshooting, providing an ongoing and precise reference to detect performance changes over time. Accedian's TCP/PM solution's flexibility makes it compatible with virtualized or physical instrumentation.
