Acceleration Strengthens US Publisher Team With New Hire

- Former Wall Street Journal Director of Advertising Operations to Join Acceleration as Business Director, Publisher Services

Acceleration (http://www.acceleration.biz/), a global provider of digital marketing consulting, managed and technology services, has appointed Virgil Waters as business director of its fast-growing publisher business segment. Based in New York, Waters will be responsible for providing a mix of consulting and technology services to Acceleration's existing publisher clients which include AARP, John Wiley and The Economist.

Waters's role will also be to drive additional revenue predominantly through Acceleration's strategic partnerships with industry leaders that includes: Omniture (http://www.omniture.com/), DoubleClick/Google (http://www.doubleclick.com/), ExactTarget (http://www.exacttarget.com/), Aprimo (http://www.aprimo.com/) and Epsilon (http://www.epsilon.com/).

Waters started his career by founding and successfully building his own software consultancy that developed systems for Fortune 500 companies. Other ventures included building a search engine and launching an Internet advertising agency. Most recently Waters ran the ad systems and operations for two of the most prominent and profitable online sites, Autotrader.com and The Wall Street Journal Online.

Waters will work closely with Cameron Hulett, SVP of Publisher Services based in London, UK.
