An industry veteran, Ms. Fort has over twenty years of experience in healthcare, as a practitioner, healthcare staffing executive and entrepreneur. Like many members of the AHS Executive Management Team, Ms. Fort's career in the healthcare arena began as a nurse.  Ready to move to the business side of healthcare, Ms. Fort joined ATC Healthcare in 1992 where she started as the Director of Healthcare Resources and was then promoted to Regional Vice President.

Fort then decided to put her entrepreneurial skills to the test and formed her own company, Sunbelt Healthcare Solutions, in Macon, Georgia.  Through 1997-1999, Ms. Fort was the President and CEO and her company specialized in sourcing high technology nurses and respiratory therapists.  In 1999, Sunbelt Health was acquired by Medical Staffing Network, and post-acquisition, Fort went on to assume numerous roles at the company – Regional Director, Regional Vice President, Southeastern Regional Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer.
