Ace Calvert along with parents Kris Calvert and Dr. Jay Calvert raise awareness and research dollars for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., June 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Ace Calvert (age 8) was named Boy of the Year for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Orange County/Inland Empire. Along with his parents, Kris Calvert and Dr. Jay Calvert, Ace raised a record breaking total of $81,000 and a great deal of awareness for the local chapter of this research focused charity organization at the Annual Man and Woman of the Year Gala Saturday night, June 4, 2016.

Ace was first diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in November of 2012 and he has undergone the full course of chemotherapy at Mattel Children's Hospital at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. He has been in remission since he started treatments and will hopefully stay in remission for the rest of his life.

Dr. Jay Calvert has been named to Los Angeles Magazine's Super Doctors in 2014, 2015, and 2016. He has appeared on multiple television shows such as The Doctors, Dr. Phil, Tyra Banks Show, and many others. He has offices in Beverly Hills and Newport Beach. He attended Vanderbilt University where he majored in Molecular Biology. He attended Weill Cornell University Medical College in New York City and then went on to train in Plastic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh. He is currently volunteer faculty at the University of Southern California in the Division of Plastic Surgery.
