ACE Provides School Supplies, Scholarships to South Texas Students

MCALLEN, Texas, Aug. 26, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- During the 2014 Give a Little Campaign fundraiser, ACE Cash Express stores in South Texas raised $29,117.78 for local organizations that provide resources for education in the community. Through partnerships with the Stars Scholarship Fund and AdoptAClassroom.org, ACE employees are providing school supplies to 20 classrooms and scholarships to 20 college-bound students in South Texas.

"We are so excited to support organizations that provide students with resources to have successful futures," said Ken Rijos, Region Vice President of ACE. "Education is so important and I hope that our contributions have made a meaningful impact on students in the community."

The Stars Scholarship Fund is an organization that offers scholarships to students in South and West Texas. During the Give a Little Campaign, ACE employees raised $16,045.58 for Stars, in addition to a $5,000 donation that was made earlier in the year. Employees also raised $8,072.20 for AdoptAClassroom.org, an organization that funds teachers in order to purchase the classroom supplies and materials they need to do their job.

The Give a Little Campaign is a nationwide fundraiser that is providing more than $358,000 to charities across the country. This fundraiser is a part of ACE's charitable-giving program, the ACE Community Fund, which has donated more than $8.5 million to deserving organizations since 2004.
