Acer's Global Launch Event Features The Latest in Interactive Displays
NEW YORK, Dec. 14, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Tuesday, November 23, 2010, Skylight SOHO in New York City was the site chosen by Taiwanese laptop maker Acer to hold the official global press event for the launch of the company's newest and most exciting products -- Acer's top executives, including CEO Gianfranco Lanci and Jim Wong, head of information-technology products, were on hand to present a series of multi-touch computers, which include the Iconia, to join the tablet race and challenge Apple's market leading iPad and iPhone. spinTOUCH, an Orange County, CA-based company was sourced out by the giant manufacturer to design and deploy a series of interactive, multi-touch surfaces to showcase the Acer products at the event.
The event was dubbed as "interact," and Acer sought to provide interactive solutions to engage the over 200 international press attendees and participants at what resembled a Milan fashion show. "We consulted with Acer through their marketing consultants -- Beverly Hills-based S.A.T. Meetings & Conventions -- and realized they were interested in creating an interactive, experiential environment for their audience," says Navid Firoozi, Director of Global Product Marketing. "Our team evaluated the space (Skylight, SOHO-NYC) and got excited over the possibilities of the exact designs and pieces we could offer," Firoozi adds. spinTOUCH rose to the challenge by getting their team of designers and engineers to conceptualize and produce 6 interactive bars, a "Minority Report"-like 78" multi-touch display, and a number of 65" multi-touch screens.
As this type of interactive displays and surfaces become more and more popular at shows, conventions, and events, spinTOUCH has lead the field in the U.S. market by becoming a full-service interactive marketing agency. In addition to designing and manufacturing each piece of technology-based surface, the company relies on their in-house programmers to customize flash animation, industry-specific templates, as well as integration capabilities in order to make the client's brand and messaging stand out.
"It enables the brands to engage their prospects by allowing them to interact with each surface in a unique way," Paul Hashemi, the company's CEO states. "For this specific event, we were able to serve Acer's messaging and branding objectives by integrating their product images and marketing collateral onto the multi-touch surfaces and create an interactive, playful and engaging environment for all to enjoy ... it certainly left a lasting impression and the positive feedback was overwhelming."
spinTOUCH's clients include Ford Motors, BMW, MTV, Grey Goose and the company has a presence in a number of large conventions and expos throughout the year.
Firoozi has high hopes for the company as the market demand continues to increase for interactive surface displays for live events and private venues. "Interactive media in any form is the trend regardless of the arena or industry, and we will continue to introduce cutting edge and relevant technology in the years to come."
