ACO Hardware Donates $20,000 to American Legion Troop Support

LANSING, Mich., Aug. 23 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Michigan ACO Hardware Representatives Richard Hunziker, (Merchandiser/Buyer for ACO and Vietnam Veteran), and Andy Moses, (District Manager and ACO lead for this project), presented a $20,000 donation for the American Legion Wounded Warrior Program to State Commander William Hafeman, Saturday, August 21 in ceremonies at Dearborn.  The donation, collected through ACO stores from mid-May until Fourth of July weekend and administered through the American Legion's Reconnect Committee chaired by Gary Tanner, will provide returning wounded troops and their families a relaxing weekend away from the stress of combat injuries.  The Reconnect Committee has also partnered with the Mackinac Island Tourism Bureau which has offered two monthly complimentary weekend packages for selected troops at the Murray Hotel or The Inn on Mackinac Island as well as discounts from various other merchants on the Island.  ACO Hardware's three-year American Legion Reconnect Committee support has been responsible for collecting three tons of sporting goods, shipped free to deployed troops by Kalitta Air of Oscoda, and monetary donations of $30,000 over the last two years thanks to the generosity of ACO and their customers.
